Florida Children’s Institute is committed to providing our clients with the most cutting edge, research supported interventions. We believe that conducting research keeps us constantly thinking and learning and on the forefront of our field. To ensure that we are successful in this goal, and to ensure the quality of research conducted at Florida Children’s Institute, we have invited local leaders and respected Behavior Analysts and Researchers to serve on our Research Review Committee. This committee meets regularly, to review new and ongoing research at Florida Children’s Institute.

Members:

Angela R. Mann, Ph.D., BCBA, NCSP

Dr. Mann is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Florida, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.  She works as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of North Florida where she researches issues related to the school-to-prison pipeline, means of improving behavioral parent training, and finally ways to best support families raising youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

David Cox, M.S., BCBA

David is currently working toward his PhD in Psychology, concentration in Behavior Analysis at the University of Florida. David received his Board Certification in Behavior Analysis in 2011 and as been working with individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities since 2006 picking up a M.S. in Bioethics from the Icahn School of Medicine and Union Graduate College in 2010. His areas of clinical specialization are severe behavior and stereotypy, and his research focuses on translating basic findings into clinical practice and the practical application of quantitative models of preference and choice behavior.
